Carrier Command 2 - Bear
Category : GraphicsMy son is a huge fan of Carrier Command 2. Having been a fan of the original Carrier command myself, more than 30 years ago from now on Atari ST, I decided to model one of the tanks in the game (the "bear") in order to print it.
The size of the model is quite small (about 10 cm) and the large number of details predestines it rather to resin printing (SLA). However, with a scale of 300% or more, it should be possible to do this on a filament printer (FDM).
A next post will be devoted to the printed version soon.
In the meantime, you can download the model for free at Thingiverse.
Scree
client : Le Naturographe Category : NoneStill as part of the development of the exhibition hall of the Galerie de l'Alpe in the Alpine Garden, at the Col du Lautaret in Villar d'Arène (05), Le Naturographe asked me to model a stylized scree in 3d. This resin structure is just over 3 meters high.
The mission is an extension of the stylized root layout, as well as the virtual reality application for Oculus Go.
The Thing 3d printable
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4331254 Category : GraphicsAs promised, here is the printable version of the Thing previously modeled for cgi.
The model is about 17cm height. You can download it freely on Thingiverse.
Personnaly, I had a lot of fun modeling, printing and painting it (oil paint and airbrush).
The Thing 3d
https://3dtotal.com/galleries/yqnek/the-thing Category : GraphicsA few years ago, I produced a rough about the famous Marvel character, member of the Fantastic four : The Thing.
Time passed by, and although the modeling started, it was stuck due to lack of time. The current quarantine period because of Coronavirus is the perfect time for me to dive in the theme again.
The character has been modeled with Zbrush, and renderer with Maverick Studio with a lot of displacement maps. A great thank you to Erwann from RandomControl who helped me a lot with his advices about Maverick.
Cytomegalovirus (CMV)
client : Henri 8 Category : DevelopmentDevelopment of an augmented reality application for a pharmaceutical company. The goal of this app is to present the inhibition process of specific molecules on a CMV virus replication scheme compared to its normal replication cycle.
The app has been developed with Unity 3d 2019.2.1f1 (C#) + Vuforia for iOs (iPad).

Honey pearls
client : Vivapi https://vivapi.com/ Category : GraphicsFor a series of honey candies (of excellent quality), Vivapi asked me to produce promotional images for its website mainly. Since it was necessary to produce strictly identical images from one perfume to another, CGI has proved to be the ideal tool for this task. The render has been produced with Maxwell Render. A studio HDR lighting has been recreated in order to emphasis the volumes.
The images were rendered with Maxwell for the most realistic result possible (28 in total). The texture of the candies has been reproduced most faithfully to the originals. The candies shapes were modeled by photogrammetry and retouched under ZBrush. The pot was modeled using CAD tools from plan to obtain the exact virtual replica.
I invite you to taste these sweets, they are all more delicious than others!
3d printing
Category : GraphicsWorking on virtual models is fine, but make them real, is much better.
After scanning in 3d a character with a low end 3d scanner, a bit of manual retouch with Zbrush, I've tried to print it in 3d with a 3d printer (Creality CR10-S). The print height is 15 cm and it has been printed in PLA in 0.15mm. A layer of varnish has been applied to erase a little the stratas effect produced by the printer as thin as it is. The print lasted about 24h, and the result is rather faithful to the original model. Only the 3d scanner is pretty approximate by its quality.Nevertheless, it allowed me to roughly catch the basic forms of the model.
An interesting experience in short.
New logo developpeur3d.com
Category : GraphicsAfter nearly 10 years,a new logo was necessary. This version, deliberately very close to the Unity 3d's logo, and more sober than the previous logo, indicates the orientations of the site taken for those past 10 years: 3d development and rigor. The logo has been modeled in 3d of course, and exists especially in CAD model for a possible 3d printing (which may be the subject of a future post in the lab section) ...
