A few personal projects, technical tests, you are in the laboratory R&D. ..A pool of ideas thrown in bulk. This is where concepts are born and new projects. This is where I explore new techniques, I experiment, I develop new components, I'm looking for solutions to problems often encountered...
Any suggestions ?
The physique in Unity doesn't take into account the inertia. It only acts when a force is applied (collision or other). This test intends to simulate inertia by applying forces to the character's extremities.

Dynamic water test under Unity 3d. The duck is floating by using the principles of Archimedes. The water surface is controled in part by the module MegaFiers. Touch the surface of the water, and try to change its density with the slider... (Unity 3d webplayer needed).

I've declined the 3d model made in Zbrush a few weeks ago in a low poly version to try to get something similar in Unity. A good facture of sub sufrace scattering is difficult to get in real time, and the result is certainly not up to the original model precalculated, but the shaders transcribe well the glazed appareance. Let's play with the density for the most improbable results ... (Unity 3d webplayer needed)

Rendering test with Arion. This unbiased render engine is incredibly efficent since it uses both cpu and gpu(s). The rock was modeled with Zbrush and rendered with diffuse, displacement map, bump map, specular map. The result is quite interesting, and the render engine is excessively fast and easy to use so far.

This is a simple AS3/Air test. The purpose was to create a color confgurator with a simple photo. A rough 3d scene was modeled to render the mattes (diffuse, indirect lightings (global illumination), reflections). the mattes are dynamically binded to the selected color. Some blendModes are attached to the mattes to make the trick. The application is just a test. It can be downloaded at : http://download.graphiste3d.net/Wallcolor.air(need Adobe Air)

The light probe system integrated in Unity Pro 3.5 is very interesting. It optimizes the performance. The principle is fairly simple: the lights are sampled in space. This sampling is used to dynamically simulate the subtleties of illumination on non-statics objects. Associated with lightmapping and ambient occlusion (which is not done, however, to optimize performances), the result is quite efficient. No light is required. In this example, the same scene is used in this configuration, and normal lighting (+ shadows). Note that the performance gain is detrimental to the memory load of course. (Unity webplayer required)

It's been a long time since I wanted to test the famous 3d studio max massFx module. This module dates back a little, but I wanted to compare it with its predecessor, the Havoc physics engine. It is definitely easier to use, and better integrated to the UI of 3ds. For the accuracy and the computation time, it has nothing to envy to the old module.More smoke (fumeFx) and particles would have made it more realistic, but I sorely lacking time.

A new test of the new exciting after effect plugin : Element 3d from videocopilot.net. The multi-object system is very interesting. Unfortunatly, the textures management has much room for improvement mainly for imported objects. But this tool provides a 3d result in a very fast way.
