The Thing 3d
https://3dtotal.com/galleries/yqnek/the-thing Category : GraphicsA few years ago, I produced a rough about the famous Marvel character, member of the Fantastic four : The Thing.
Time passed by, and although the modeling started, it was stuck due to lack of time. The current quarantine period because of Coronavirus is the perfect time for me to dive in the theme again.
The character has been modeled with Zbrush, and renderer with Maverick Studio with a lot of displacement maps. A great thank you to Erwann from RandomControl who helped me a lot with his advices about Maverick.
Apiland old mill 3d
client : Apiland nature Category : GraphicsOn the occasion of the creation of a film about the making of walnut oil in an old mill, Apiland asked me to produce some 3D sequences to explain the operation of a mill. Here are some static viewsRenders have been done using RandomControl Arion. Water have been simulated with Realflow.
2015 wishes - making of
Category : GraphicsA quick making of this year wish visual. The modeling was done in Zbrush (dynamesh), Rendered with Arion.
2015 wishes
Category : Graphics2015 visual wishes. The character has been sculpted in Zbrush, the rest with 3d studio max. Rendered with Arion (RandomControl)
2014 wishes
Category : Graphics2014 wish card. The scene has been modeled with 3d studio max, Zbrush and rendered with Arion. The rabbit's fur was created with Zbrush, but Arion doesn't support vertices colors. So, the scanline engine was used to render the animals. A slight editing under Photoshop was done to balance the composition.[edit : the making of the rabbit modeling]
Tea in the garden
Category : GraphicsI wanted to recreate some peaceful scene, serene and ... greedy. I used for that my lasts 3d models modeled with ZBrush (Strawberry tart and Cup of tea). The redering was done under Arion with a very dim hdr lighting, some diffuse projectors to simulate foliages.
Cup of tea
Category : GraphicsA little rendering training of a cup of tea. the spoon has been modeled with Zbrush, the rest with 3d Studio max. The rendering has been done with Arion. Although the logic of materials is very close to that of Maxwell render, the texture of sugars was difficult to obtain (by SSS mainly). I wanted to also test the quality of the displacement from Arion (engravings on the spoon). I have to say that the result is quite interesting, but relatively slow computing. Gain memory is however significant compared to the full poly model (which is primary for GPU rendering).
Strawberry tart
Category : GraphicsA little sweetness for a 3d modeling training session. The mesh has been modeled with Zbrush. The rendering used intensively of SSS (Sub Surface Scattering). I will certainly use this mesh in a better worked scene very soon... Stay tuned.
